The Shaver Shop of Evanston was started in the early 1970's and was taken over by Mike Koumantos in 1996 from the first owner, Jerry Chambers. Mike owned the White Hen Pantry around the corner to the Shaver Shop of Evanston and one day while Jerry was picking up a deli sandwich and he mentioned that he was getting ready to retire and sell the Shaver Shop of Evanston. Mike was interested and took over the Shaver Shop after a 3 month training period.
The Shaver Shop of Evanston caters to a diverse clientele that includes customers who are Regulars for decades to Sports Players, Actors, Politicians, News Anchors, On Air Personalities, Barbers, Hair Stylists and Animal Groomers.
The Shaver Shop of Evanston is a family run business.
